We Did It!!

Tonight we signed, dated, initialed and time wrote on 10 different pages on a contract for a house! I think we need to do some workouts in preparation for closing! Anyway, the house is a new construction in a great neighborhood (good location, great schools). When we first saw the actual house, it was still in the studs phase. Husband is hoping we can get in soon to get an estimate to wire some "HDMI cables" so we can hang a flat screen cleanly over the fireplace, before they insulate and drywall. The cabinets have already been chosen, but we like them. We will get to pick flooring, lighting, and appliances. We're hoping to close at the end of July, which is 2 weeks before our lease is up (no doubling up on rent AND mortgage). The hardest part will be not furnishing the whole house all at once! I've discovered Polyvore, an online toolbar that allows you to save images you see, tag them, and then create idea boards based on what you've saved. I've got one for the living and dining rooms, both bathrooms, and the master bedroom. I've even got a sparsely done patio, although that is WAAAAAAY done on the list of priorities since my parents are holding an outdoor love seat to go with a table and two chairs we already have. We're making our list of priorities; the living room is first. As money allows, we'll probably tackle the dining room, get a bed for the guest room, then take on the master. I've started a short list of small projects (depending on if we can increase the size of our patio) for my dad :) Love you Daddy!
I'm posting pictures of a finished version of our house. This is the house we saw first and sold us on the floor plan.
Kitchen (only difference for our house would be black appliances)

Butler's pantry

Dining room
The columns "sold" husband. It defines the space, but keeps everything open. I'm looking forward to taking some red ribbon to them and turning them into candy canes!

Breakfast nook
This sold me on the house! The door leads to the patio and yard.

Hall Bath

Living room Flat screen is going over the fireplace.

Master bath
Our house will also have the separate tub and shower, but we will have the basic translucent glass block instead of decorative window.

DOUBLE SINK in the master (do you think I'm excited?)

Master bedroom
You can't really see it, but there's a nice detail with a sloped tray ceiling.

Front bedroom (future guest room)
There's a nice little plant shelf behind this picture that we are already expecting to one day find a child on top of.
